Today we had Kindergarten orientation with Rylee. Â She has been so excited to go and check things out. Â She was very excited at the possibility of riding on a school bus too.
We went in and the first thing the principal said was, “I’d like to welcome the class of 2025!”. Â Holy cow! Â I hadn’t ever stopped to think about what year Rylee would graduate. Â And then my eyes filled with tears. Â That may seem like a long way off, but I know it will be here in the blink of an eye.
After addressing the entire group the principal introduced the Kindergarten teachers and we broke up into three groups. Â What is amazing is that two of Rylee’s girlfriends from daycare are going to the same elementary school and they all wound up in the Teddy Bear group so they went to the same classroom. Â The three girls were giggly and ready to check things out.
When we got into the classroom each Pre-K kid was assigned a buddy. Â Their buddy helped them make a butterfly out of construction paper. Â These will be kept and when they arrive at their classrooms in the fall the butterflies will be there to greet them. Â I thought that was a fun idea.
While the kids were being creative the parents got to sit with the teacher and ask questions. Â We also got some other great information. Â I feel like they have a great program and that Rylee will have every opportunity to excel if she chooses to apply herself.
The last thing we did was take a ride on a bus. Â Here’s a shot of Rylee just before we pulled out of the parking lot. Â I’d say she looks pretty excited!
